Whenever possible, we focus on regional sourcing and resource-conscious practices. The great thing about it: Sustainability doesn’t mean higher costs or less comfort – it simply challenges us to find smarter, more mindful alternatives. Our suppliers –
trust and local flavours

From field to fork: As a sustainable hotel in Germany, we value producers and suppliers from our immediate surroundings. This supports local communities and celebrates the craftsmanship behind high-quality, distinctive foods. Regional sourcing not only brings delicious flavours to the table, it also fosters a strong sense of togetherness.

Because good things are so close at hand, we promote biodiversity here on our hotel grounds: Our Seezeit cuisine is enriched by our own herb garden – with up to 20 different seasonal herbs growing throughout the year. We’re also home to 10 beehives: They play a key role in pollinating nearby plants and each hive produces around 25 kilograms of honey annually.

General

As a sustainable hotel in Germany, Seezeitlodge prioritises eco-friendly measures in all areas. An overview:

  • Water from the Schwollen spring in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park region
  • “Green Stay” – Conscious Use of Resources: We aim to carefully reduce our use of water, energy, and cleaning products—without compromising on comfort. For this reason, room cleaning generally takes place every two days. This helps us reduce the amount of laundry, cleaning product consumption, and energy use. In addition, we use a portion of the savings generated through this initiative to support a tree-planting project. We’re convinced that many small, sincere steps can, when added together, make a difference for our environment. Of course, your preference is what matters most: If you’d prefer daily room cleaning, you can request it at any time at the front desk at no extra charge.
  • Electricity in the guest rooms only with inserted key card
  • Reforestation in the run-up to the construction of Seezeitlodge
