Experience the heritage of the Celts: Seezeitlodge

Under the sign of the Celts

Seezeitlodge is deeply rooted in the region’s cultural history. The Celts once settled in what is now the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park, and the famous ring wall of Otzenhausen is just a few kilometres away. The trees of the Celtic tree circle also have a special place at our hotel: The willow, as the “birth tree” of Seezeitlodge, greets you at the main entrance, while oak, ash, and birch trees in the park and garden symbolise strength, energy, and light.

Inspired by the Celtic Wheel of the Year

The Celtic druids revered nature and its ever-changing forces. Their festivals followed the rhythms of the sun and the moon – a heritage that still lives on at Seezeitlodge, reflected in our Celtic-inspired offers: magical midsummer, mystical Samhain, powerful Yule, and our yoga lodge. Our popular LUMI kitchen party draws inspiration from the Celtic harvest festivals, which began at the autumn equinox and were celebrated until the following full moon.

Seezeitlodge rituals

Our Seezeit Spa combines ancient Celtic wisdom with modern wellness rituals, transforming them into exceptional treatments. In harmony with nature, we offer ceremonies that make the rhythms of life, the seasons, and the power of healing plants tangible. Indulge in spa rituals tailored to your needs, following these four worlds of experience: feel peace, recharge energy, find inspiration, or gain clarity.

Architecture in harmony with the solstices

Inspired by Celtic tradition, Seezeitlodge is precisely aligned with the paths of the solstices. A gleaming brass inlay in the floor marks these axes, connecting the indoors with the outdoors. On the summer solstice, it runs straight through the community table in Restaurant LUMI and continues out onto the terrace. Outside, it follows the contours of the landscape before rising skyward in a striking art installation by Katharina Bender, symbolising a “sunbeam.” The winter solstice axis runs through the lobby and ends at the firepit on the terrace. Even the spring and autumn equinoxes are reflected in the architecture – fittingly, Bar NOX sits exactly on the Equinox axis. Raise a glass to the magic of the seasons here, with a stunning view of the lake – perhaps with our house-made Equinox Gin?
